Math. Expected fee = |units × price| × role rate. Effective rate = total expected fee ÷ total fee-bearing notional. A fill is maker or taker per the venue's own report, not per the order type you intended.

For a percentage schedule, the calculated fee equals the fee-bearing notional multiplied by the decimal rate. Preserve a negative value only when the venue statement identifies a maker rebate actually credited. Do not assign one liquidity role to every fill from the order's original type.

An unfilled remainder can have zero trade fee and still change the strategy outcome. A maker fee rate does not account for a missed trade or a worse later fill.
