Multi-venue perpetual accounting standards
Binance, Bybit, and Hyperliquid use conflicting naming conventions, fee tokens, and funding intervals. Standardizing trade records into an isolated relational format prevents miscalculating net strategy edge. Read the companion guide: How to Reconcile Binance, Bybit, and Hyperliquid Perpetual Fills and PnL.
| Component | Reconciliation rule | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Execution fills | Record fill price, exact executed quantity, liquidity role, and timestamp in UTC | Separates maker rebate benefits from taker drag |
| Fee token valuation | Isolate secondary fee deductions (e.g., BNB) and convert to USD at execution time | Prevents collateral balance distortion |
| Funding carry | Log every discrete settlement event separately from trade closed PnL | Isolates directional alpha from passive carry yield |
| Cash reconciliation | Verify: Net PnL = Gross PnL − Fees ± Funding = Δ Balance | Detects unexpected slippage or liquidation penalties |
How to reconcile a multi-venue ledger
- Export raw fill and transaction histories from each exchange REST API or CSV exporter.
- Normalize client identifiers, symbols, and side flags into universal schema.
- Convert token-denominated fees into USD reference values.
- Sum gross trade PnL, maker/taker fees, and funding settlements separately.
- Audit account ending equity against starting equity plus net cash flow.
