Whales research screen
Use Whales to inspect top-trader position observations and liquidation-event evidence, replay recorded timelines, and save a clearly labeled research scenario.
Before you begin: Coverage, access, and source freshness vary. Public positions cannot reveal a trader’s full hedge or intent; liquidation feeds are sampled observations, and replays or authored paths are research models, not forecasts or trade instructions.
How to use it
- Open Whales from the app navigation and read its access, coverage, source-health and sampling notices.
- Inspect update times, markets, filters and units; distinguish event time from observation time before interpreting totals.
- Compare a visible position observation with matching Asset Hub evidence, or move a replay cursor through recorded events while keeping missing coverage explicit.
- Search for earlier analogues or aligned cross-asset context only when matching evidence is reported; add or remove context links to organize research.
- Build and compare a scenario from a replay anchor and dated levels, then optionally apply it to a matching open paper position or save the replay reference to Research after inspecting its digest and assumptions.
- Return to the board and state what remains unknown about the trader, source gaps, or authored scenario values.
Worked example and expected outcome
Teaching case: a dated position snapshot is older than the current market session while sampled liquidation observations cluster around a rapid move; a later mark is visible only after the replay cursor advances.
This is a fixed teaching example, not a current quote, personal account result or trade recommendation.
Check your understanding
Which observations were known at the selected time, and what remains unknown or was authored rather than observed?
If it does not work
If a source is stale, a cohort is too small, or a mark is unavailable, preserve it as unknown; never infer intent from an empty board or fill gaps with estimates.
