Encrypted backups

Preserve a workspace with understood encryption and restore consequences.

Before you begin: Hosted encrypted workspace controls differ from Settings’ unencrypted JSON export.

⁦How to use it⁩

  1. Open Account & privacy and inspect the encrypted workspace vault disclosure.
  2. Choose the supported export/sync flow deliberately and keep the passphrase privately.
  3. Verify that the saved item is the intended encrypted workspace; preserve a separate current backup.
  4. Rehearse restore in an isolated workspace and read the replace/conflict confirmation before approving.

⁦Worked example and expected outcome⁩

Which workspace would restore replace, and which passphrase unlocks the vault?

⁦If it does not work⁩

Without the passphrase, do not promise recovery; never test replacement on your only active workspace.
